This presents opportunities for students to hear English in use and to respond thoughtfully. It covers a number of topics: introductory material, tourist situations, talking about yourself and free time. It also makes a point of providing the student with a variety of accents, including those of non-native speakers.The book includes answers and transcripts of recordings.My main quibble (and the reason it's lost a star) is that I feel that a lot of the topics are too basic for someone at B1 level: discussing your family or where you come from; it is done at a deeper level than beginner materials but they are still topics I wouldn't normally cover at this level. It is extremely expensive if you are going to provide a book for every student and it would be helpful to provide a cheaper student edition or to provide photocopiable sections.
